Wow - this just keeps getting better! As one of the newly-initiated, I now get why everyone says Alaska is a must-do!
We avail ourselves of a float-plane from Island Wings for Ketchikan, which will be our last port before a well-earned sea day and rejuvenation soak in the Lotus Spa before disembarking in Vancouver where we will end our journey.
This is a seaplane that takes off from right behind the port, and our pilot is a woman, and masterful at her craft! When she is not running tours, she is shuttling kids to school (yes, in the air!) or facilitating hunts as she is also an expert tracker!
The scenery is different here, and we are blessed to arrive on one of the 20 or so sunny days in this town, so the views are amazing! Rain forests and greenery as far as the eye can see! We are mesmerized once more, and land on a small island for 360 degree views of one of the many splendid valleys in this unspoiled portion of the world! I cannot say enough about the expertise of these pilots, nor the experience that awaits you if you choose to visit Alaska!
