No trip to Greece would be complete for me without a requisite visit to my favorite jewelers in the region, and possibly some of the best in the whole world!
We had the pleasure of visiting Gali and Tanni, my friends and proprietors of Precious Jewelers on Mykonos, which is one of my all-time favorite boutiques for snapping up unique, hand-made pieces from the region.
We have been coming here since our first visit back in 2001, and I have yet to leave the island without scoring something really special! This year was no exception – I treated myself to a gold filigree ring centered with a lovely cabochon ruby center.
I don’t buy my jewelry to throw in a drawer, rather I am adding this fine score to my “always on” collection, which is bad (I get stopped, a LOT, by other jewelers who clearly see I love these pieces) and good (each piece tells a story, which I love to share with my lucky clients when they are planning a visit!).
I am not exactly a tattoo gal. I prefer to express my individualism with these exquisite pieces – a Greek Key bracelet from 2015, an Egyptian hieroglyph silver bracelet from2007, a lapis and gold urn charm, and of course, my lapis lion’s head ring, procured on Samos in 2001 where it all began. Now my lion has settled into his newest friend and neighbor, for which I truly thank Gali and Tanni!
I hope to see them, and lovely Mykonos again soon!
