Join us this year as we travel with dear friends Nick and Pam, whom we me on the Golden Princess back in 2006, as circumnavigate England, Ireland and Scotland, with our final port of call at Le Harve where we will tour Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery during the 60th anniversary of the Normandy Landings!
Our lodgings for the first 2 nights pre-cruise are the Chamberlain in the Tower Bridge section of London. We selected this property for location and price and are not at all disappointed with the choice. The rooms are small, but clean and ample, and a coffee-pot and fridge mean fresh java on demand – a must for us during peak touring!
The Tower, London Bridge and St. Katherine’s Wharf are minutes away on foot, and we are thrilled to dine in the Dickens Pub – some of the best fresh fish and chips to be had in all of London! The chicken pot pie is blanketed in a layer of flaky puff pastry, and we top off with a yummy fudge cake a la mode (light French vanilla ice cream), and then pack it in for an overdue sleep so we can hit the town hard tomorrow!
