Rich and I are sailing RCI Explorer of the Seas for a 5-night round-trip from right here in Bayonne – no flights necessary! We are joined by brother Peter and his significant other Kathleen, and we are looking forward to catching up with family this week!
There is something for everyone on this cruise – families, singles, adults and multi-generations can enjoy a short break and locals can even use the money saved on airfare for shipboard activities and Bermuda!
The best part of this cruise is the 3 days we get to enjoy in Bermuda! The ship docks in Royal Navy Dockyard right near the ferries, so it is only a short walk to pick up one headed to Hamilton, which we do! This is a lovely town with amazing restaurants where we score an outdoor table for people watching. Great bar scene, excellent shopping from boutiques to high-end, and not a “color changing t-shirt” shop in site! My kind of place!
The ship affords us ample respite from walking and the sun, and we enjoy three days taking in the sights, sounds and tastes of wonderful Bermuda!
