It seems some long overdue competition may force reduced Wi-Fi rates and much higher connection speeds for Internet Access at Sea.
O3bMaritime, the new kid on the block, claims broadband services will be par with onshore telecommunication standards. This new option will be premiering on the Quantum of the Seas, and the Anthem of the Seas, and your tech savvy travel counselors at The Total Excursion are personally sailing on both vessels in 2015!
We are on the Quantum in April for the annual Vacation.com seminar and will celebrating New Year’s Eve on the Anthem on a 7-night sailing out of Bayonne NJ on December 27th.
I plan to report back positive results (and maybe even some success streaming video!), and further hope to see the rest of the cruise lines adopt this necessary feature in modern travel…stay tuned!!!
